Abstract
In order to investigate the effects of Daeshihotang. Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium guinea pig which were fed with lithogenic diet were administered solid extracts of Daeshihotang, Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium and then
observed
about gallstone incidence, ¥â-glucuronidase in bile, in serum, bilirubin in bile, in serum, bile total cholesterol
@ES The results were obtained as follows
@EN 1. Pigment stone were formed by lithogenic diet in guinea pig and the incidence rates of gallstone were reduced in Daeshihotang, Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium group.
2. The level of ¥â-glucuronidase in bile was remarkably increased in control group and in Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium the level of ¥â-glucuronidase was reduced as compared with that of control group.
3. The level of ¥â-glucuronidase in serum also remackably increased and it reduced in control group but had no statistical sigificance.
4. The level of total bilirubin in bile was remarkably increased in control group, and had attendancy of reduce in Daeshihotang, Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium. The level of free bilirubin also significantly increased in control group
and had
attendancy to reduce in Daeshihotang. Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium group. The rate of free bilirubin to the total bilirubin was most increased in control group and reduced in Daeshihotang, Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium
group.
5. The level total bilirubin in serum was rmarkably increased in control group but the rate of free bilirubin to the total bilirubin in bile had little changes and free bilirubin in serum was increased as compared with the of bile.
6. The level of total cholesterol was increased in control group and Daeshihotang. Daeshihotang and Desmodium, stractyfolium group showed similar result.
According to the above results, it is considered that Daeshihotang, Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium have therapeutic effects on cholecystolithiasis induced by lithogenic diet in guinea pig. Clinically we can make use of Daeshihotang,
Daeshihotang and Desmodium stractyfolium for therapeutic and preventive effects on cholecytolithiasis but the mechanism concerned for the effects is to be investigated detaily in future.
